Music Ministries of Faith

Faith maintains a strong, traditional music ministry that involves people of all ages.  Whether you are 6 years or old or 96 years old, we have a place for you!

Music at Faith serves to enhance the worship services and life of the church.  Additionally, the music ministry aims to enrich the musical and spiritual lives of those who participate in addition to reaching out to the greater community.

Chancel Choir

Open to All Ages

Rehearses 8:00-9:30pm, Thursdays

Open to high school students through adults.  Previous musical experience is preferred but not necessary.  Church membership is not required.  The ensemble rehearses Thursday nights, 8:00-9:30pm, and leads 9:30 a.m. worship primarily, special worship services additionally, Sept. to June.  Director of Music, Michael Wu, leads this ensemble.

Faith Singers

Open to Children, Grades 3-6

Rehearses 5:15-6:15pm, Thursdays

Christopher Guerra, Manager of the Montgomery County Honors Chorus and Choral Music Instructor at A. Mario Loiderman Middle School in Silver Spring, Maryland, is also Faith UMC's Children's Choir Director.  The ensemble is open to all children, grades 3-6.  Previous musical experience is not necessary, and church membership is not required.  Choristers contribute to the services of the church about once monthly between September and May.

Children's Choir

Open to Children, K-2

Rehearses 10:30-11:00am, Sundays

Introducing young children to singing and making music with their voices are the focus of this ensemble, open to all children grades K-2.  Movement and music are integral parts of the experience, and the group contributes to worship 3-4 times between September and May.

Women of Faith Chorus

Open to Women of All Ages

Rehearses as needed for upcoming worship services

Open to female high school students through adults.  This all-female ensemble is open to sopranos and altos, and provides an opportunity for fellowship and music making.  The ensemble leads worship occasionally, September through May.  Rehearsals are established once we know what day we will lead worship.  Church membership is not necessary, and music reading is preferred but not required.

Men of Faith Chorus

Open to Men of All Ages

Rehearses as needed for upcoming worship services

Open to male high school students through adults.  Men of Faith is open to tenors and basses, and like its Women of Faith counterpart, provides an opportunity for fellowship and music making.  Church membership is not necessary, and music reading is preferred but not required.

Bells of Faith

Open to All Ages

Rehearses 7:00-8:00pm, Thursdays

Open to high school students through adults.  This five-octave handbell choir helps lead worship services at the church about once each month.  The group meets from September to May.  Contact Nancy Kuhn if you are interested in participating.
