Christian Education for Youth (grades 6-12)

Faith United Methodist Church is committed to a vibrant Christian Education Ministry, grounded in God's Word, that permeates all aspects of life at Faith United Methodist Church and our lives as individual Christians.  Our goal is to educate members of all ages in the Christian faith for personal spiritual growth and renewal, and preparation for living lives as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Middle School (grades 6-8) in Room 205 on Sunday mornings

Join us on Sunday mornings as we explore the stories of the Bible in a variety of series; stories we most likely will not have covered in our elementary years.  In the past we've covered some Parables and a series called "Family, Friends, Rivals, and Enemies".  Each week we read and discuss the scripture readings and engage in activities such as games, art, drama, and more to make the story come to life in our lives.  Monthly we have Bible Game Day and periodically we engage in a game of Bible Jeopardy! 

Senior  High (grades 9-12) in Room 206 on Sunday mornings

Culture and the Christian Faith:  We utilize the weekly email subscription LinC from Cokesbury, which relates current events from news, pop culture, and youth experiences to the Christian life. 

Confirmation Classes for Grades 7+

Periodically we offer Confirmation Classes for youth in grades 7 and up who are ready to take on their own Christian discipleship journey.  Utilizing the curriculum, CredoConfirmation from Cokesbury, youth get to Know Their Story (encounter the faith narrative from creation to Christianity), Confirm Their Faith (embrace the essential beliefs and practices of the United Methodist Church), and Live Their Commitment (embody the confirmation vows and embark on the Christian discipleship journey).  At the end of the 18-session journey, our confirmands make their vows and become professing members of Faith UMC during a special worship service.
