Join Us for the Lent 2012 Study!
Serving From the Heart
Finding Your Gifts and Talents for Service
You are invited to join a six-week study group
this Lent to discover how God has uniquely
designed you to serve God and others!
In this comprehensive study, you will discover
your spiritual gifts, assess your talents and
resources, identify your individuality, explore
your dreams, and incorporate your experiences.
Choose from one of the study groups
opportunities listed below. Sign up by
either clicking on the group, sending an email
to Gina Dawson (ginad@faithworkshere.com),
filling out a tear-off sheet on this Sunday's
bulletin insert, or a sign-up sheet in
fellowship hall after the worship services.
The cost of the participant guide is $13 and you
do not need to purchase it ahead of time.
It will be given to you at your first group
meeting.
If you do not plan on participating in a study
group, but would like to work through the study
on your own, you can purchase a participant
guide in the Fellowship Hall after Worship
beginning February 5th.

Classes & Groups
Even though we have already begun these classes,
newcomers are always welcome.
Lost Christianities: Christian Scriptures and
the Battles Over Authentication
Sundays, 8:15am in the Parlor
- This 24-session DVD course from The Teaching
Company features Professor Bart Ehrman leading
us through the diverse Christian groups and
their scriptures prior to the "official" New
Testament. Some Christians held beliefs
that today would be considered bizarre.
What did these writings say? How could
such outlandish ideas ever be considered
Christian? If such beliefs were common,
why do they no longer exist? These are
just a few of the many provocative questions
that arise from this study. Join
anytime - while each week has some buildup from
previous weeks, they are rather self-contained.
Bible Stories for Grown-Ups: The Gospel of
John
Sundays, 9:30am in the Parlor
- Join us as we continue our journey through the
Gospel of John, which we began at the end of
spring. No homework and we go at our own
pace, choosing together what book of the Bible
to study. Frequent recaps, so you can join
anytime.
From Jesus to Constantine: A History of
Early Christianity
Sundays, 11:00am in the Parlor
- This 24-session DVD course from The Teaching
Company features Professor Bart Ehrman leading
us through the transformation of Christianity
from its humble beginnings to becoming the
official religion of the Roman Empire with the
Emperor Constantine. Join anytime -
while each week has some buildup from previous
weeks, they are rather self-contained. You
can even borrow the DVD for previous sessions.

Events
Throughout the year, the Christian Education
Ministry Team sponsors various one-time learning
events. These include movie nights with
discussion, book discussion,
and interfaith panels.
We have no one-time learning events planned at
this time. We anticipate having one or two
events after Easter 2012.
